Puerto Galera or Port of the Galleons is another popular diving destination and is about 4 hours away from Manila. The dive sites here are 5 to 30 minutes away by “banca” or outrigger from Sabang, Little Lalaguna and Big Lalaguna. This diving destination caters to all levels of diving but only the experienced divers are allowed to dive the Canyons, Fish Bowl, Alma-Jane Wreck & Monkey Wreck for safety reasons. The Canyons is one of the best sites in Galera and is known for having strong currents that attracts big groupers and school of snappers. Other dive sites include the Hole in the Wall, Sabang Wreck & Chuck’s Wreck, St. Christopher Wreck, Monkey Beach, Shark Cave, Coral Garden, Lalaguna Point, Sabang Point, Manila Channel, Batangas Channel, Sweetlips Cave, Dungeon Wall & Sky Dive. Puerto Galera is also a popular destination for non -divers because of it’s white sand beaches and colorful night life.
